Sherwood House

  Before    Fottings are Installed
Conditions at the start of construction.    The old foundation has been removed.

Our client bought this home on spec to flip.

The existing foundation was cracked on all four sides and bowing in. There was no chance of repairing it.

Being located in an old neighborhood of Webster Groves, all involved felt it was important to mainiian an old house texture to whatever we did. Instead of building all new, the decision was made to save the old home, replace the foundation and expand.

This approach preserved the character of the old home and saved $25,000.00 in materials as calculated by the contractor.

Construction took approximately 1 year.

This expansion added a master bedroom suite, family room, dining room, new 2 car garage and a wonderful rear patio.  A cedar deck and trellis were used to provide a sheltered walkway from the kitchen to the garage.   Existing Structure
